We read that the early church attended the temple together “day by day” and broke bread together in their homes with glad and generous hearts. At Westminster Chapel we are very intentional about creating and maintaining fellowship within our growing body. We know there is an organic fellowship that happens when we gather each Sunday morning. But beyond the four walls of our facility we want our members to connect, know each other, love each other, and bear each other’s burdens. Take a look at a few of the other opportunities to come together in love!
Second Sunday Luncheons
While entertaining the Moody Bible Institute Women’s Chamber Choir we enjoyed a wonderful pizza, salad, and dessert lunch immediately after the service. This was such an enjoyable event, we decided to make it a regular occurence. Second Sunday luncheons are scheduled for the second Sunday of each month after the worship service in the school cafeteria. Lunch is catered by various local restaurants and underwritten by the church. Donations are accepted.
Wednesday Night Dinners
In the Fall and Spring, we host a series of Wednesday Night Dinners. Scheduled this fall from September 13 through October 25 we will gather in the school cafeteria for food, fellowship and study led by Arch Warren. Nursery is provided for our little ones and children's choirs for the older ones. The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. and adjourns an hour later. It's short but sweet this fall. Adult and Childrens' choir practice begins at 6:30 PM.
Home Fellowship dinners
These dinners are a great way to meet each other! Held once a month for three months in the fall and four months in the spring the groups consist of 8-12 people who gather, on their own schedule, strictly for food and fellowship. Each group has a "captain" responsible for scheduling the dinners. Some groups meet in homes, others choose to meet at restaurants in their neighborhoods. Some groups include children where others are for adults only. You get to pick the type of group in which you wish to participate.
Each October we take the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful, peaceful surroundings of Shallowstone Farm with a catered picnic and fun activities for the kids including pony rides and games and a bouncy house.
Annual Advent Dinner
Each year our church family gathers at Richland Country Club to celebrate our Savior's birth. We enjoy a delicious meal, some outstanding music, an occasional comedy routine, a testimony, and a brief devotional. The cost of the evening is underwritten but donations are accepted and encouraged.
Men’s Golf Outings
Many of our men enjoy a weekly round of golf together. Often we divide into groups of older (goats) men vs. younger (sheep) ones for some friendly competition followed by fellowship over lunch. The men play at Greystone, Montgomery Bell, Harpeth Hills, Forest Crossings, and other local courses.
