Adult Education

Dr. David Lawrence provides a showcase of our Winter Adult classes.

Westminster Chapel will be offering four classes for adult studies during our Winter 2017 semester.  The offerings will include:

Continuing Study of the Gospel of Matthew
Gymnaseum
Teacher - Dr. David Lawrence

This class continues to study the gospel of Matthew from chapter 8.  The first seven chapters included Jesus’ introduction to the Kingdom of God and the basic ethic of the kingdom. Matthew then expounds on what life in the kingdom really is, as illustrated by the parables, teaching, miracles and significant events in the life of Christ.  The study includes the calling of the Twelve, the transfiguration of Christ, and His extended teaching on the meaning of discipleship.    The gospel takes us through the events of Jesus’ last week in Jerusalem including the triumphal entry, the Last Supper, the betrayal, arrest, trial, crucifixion and resurrection.  Thus Matthew provides us with a full-orbed concept of the Kingdom of God!

A Study of the Epistles of John
Room 37
Teacher - Rev. Arch Warren

Continuing Study of the Presence of God
Room 14
Teacher - Danny Hale

The presence of God is the central, unifying theme of Scripture. In three multiple-lesson series, the class will follow the development of His presence, from the Garden of Eden to the New Jerusalem.

Romans: Encountering the Gospel's Power A study by John Stott

Friends and Family Class
Room 4
Teachers - Bill and Debbie Kenny

The gospel has power. The power to save us. The power to change the world. In Paul's letter to the Romans he explains to us the power we've been given to be effective witnesses, to overcome sin, to be wholly committed to God, to handle differences in Christ's body, to understand God's view of homosexuality and to be responsible Christian citizens. The truth in Romans will transform your thinking and convict your heart as you discover the power of the gospel for every area of your life and our world.
