What is it like to visit Westminster Chapel?

Upon your arrival at Julia Green Elementary School, you will find parking available along the south (Hobbs Road) and west (Wallace Lane) sides of the building.  There is additional parking behind the school in the grass on the north side of the building.  We also provide a valet service.  Simply drive up to the front door and the valet will take care of the rest.  You do not need to provide gratuity since it is included in our contractual agreement with the valet.  You will notice that people are dressed comfortably.  Some men wear suits, some wear sport coats, some wear “business casual.”  Women wear dresses and slacks and likewise dress very comfortably.  When you enter the front doors, you will be greeted with a smile.  You will receive a nametag that allows us to call you by name and notifies the security team of your presence.  (For safety purposes, latecomers will be admitted at the front door only by the security team.).

After initial conversation, you will be directed to one of our youth or adult Sunday School classes (9:00 a.m.) or to the worship center (10:00 a.m.).  If you have young children, we are happy to assist you in finding their class or nursery.  Our Sunday School classes last approximately 40 minutes followed by a 20-minute break.  If you have children, you will have plenty of time to pick them up before the service starts and/or talk with fellow worshippers.  (Children ages 4-5 will be dismissed to Kinder Church in the middle of the worship service.)  As you enter the worship center, friendly ushers will help you find a seat and hand you a bulletin.  The bulletin contains all of the hymns, prayers and Scripture passages for our time of worship.  The service itself lasts about 65 minutes and consists of music, praying, the giving of God's tithe and our offering, a sermon, and observance of the Lord's Table.  The sermon lasts about 25 minutes and is always based on the Bible.  You will hear expository preaching that is expressed in understandable and relevant terms.  You can listen to archived sermons here.

At the conclusion of the worship service, our pastor would love to meet you.  Before you leave, please join us for a brief time of fellowship in the school cafeteria.  Coffee, juice, and doughnuts are available for everyone.
